This course has been designed for grade 1 (or similar age group students) to study music, in the Indian and Western Music systems.

Students will learn through 3 modules.

1. Elements of Music - Demystify the Elements of Music in both the Indian Music and Western Music system, that is age-appropriate and progressive.

   - Rhythm

   - Pitch

   - Timbre

   - Form

2. World Music - Studying the Musical Genre or Style 

      - Rabindra Sangeet

      - American Folk song

3. Composing and Performing

     - Understand how to use music to enhance story telling 

Course Format

The course is designed for 36 to 40 weeks, based on the school calendar

Module 1 - Elements of music: 20 weeks

                Indian Music - 10 weeks

                Western Music - 10 weeks

Module 2 - World Music: 6 weeks

Module 3 - Composition and Performance: 10 to 14 weeks
